Our Fabrics

Organic Cotton

Committed to minimising our carbon footprint as much as possible, we only work with fabrics that are kind to the planet. Using a variety of natural eco-friendly fabrics such as GOTS certified organic cotton and bamboo, our materials are sustainably produced and sourced within India.

Why Organic Cotton?

If you’re someone who cares about the planet, then conventional cotton is a big no-no. It is a highly water-intensive crop. To give you context, one cotton t-shirt requires 2700 litres of water (yes, you heard it right).

Since a majority of the regular cotton seeds are genetically modified, the crops are all the more greedy for large amounts of chemical pesticides and herbicides; ultimately degrading soil health and quality, and leading to skin irritation and discomfort. Furthermore, In India, it takes a financial toll on farmers who cannot afford the upkeep of these demanding crops and many and end up drowning in debt.

Our stellar organic cotton, on the other hand, is made organically from farm to finished product. It also takes up 71% less water and 62% less energy than conventional cotton does, while restoring the environment by building healthy ecosystems, protecting farmers from financial problems and eliminating health concerns.

A win-win situation for both the planet and the people.

How do we support our claims?

One Less is a GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified brand. This certification legitimizes the organic status of our fibres by verifying the source of our raw materials, labelling, processing, manufacturing, packaging and distribution as socially and environmentally responsible, after undergoing a thorough check.

To offer a wider choice of sustainable fabrics, we ethically source and produce innovative alternatives to synthetic fibers, like bamboo. This fabric is ideal, as its quality encourages longer and kinder usage, while being beneficial to the environment.

Bamboo

To offer a wider choice of sustainable fabrics, we ethically source and produce innovative alternatives to synthetic fibres. Bamboo fabric is ideal, as its durability encourages longer and kinder usage, while being beneficial to the environment.

In a nutshell, bamboo is the combination of all your needs woven into a single fabric. How? Because the fabric itself is sweat absorbent, soft, hypoallergenic, odour-free, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, insulating and easily washable.

WHY BAMBOO FABRIC?

Unlike cotton and polyester socks that are non-biodegradable, unethically made and release micro plastics during washing, bamboo is restorative in nature. This is beneficial for the environment because it doesn’t just take less but also gives back more. With minimum requirements, the production of the crop demands barely any irrigation, machinery or use of pesticides/insecticides.

That’s not all! A sustainable fabric like bamboo can be our saviour in the fight against climate change. Since the crop self-regenerates, it is able to restore the soil by preventing erosion, sequestering large amounts of carbon dioxide, producing 35 times more oxygen and uses 33% less water than regular cotton.

A biodegradable, multi-purpose and long-lasting fabric that does it all.
